Meet Gana Otgonbayar

Food Scientist

Gana Otgonbayar earned her Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Biotechnology from the Mongolian International University in Mongolia in 2004, followed by a Master's degree in Food Science with a focus on Enzyme and Fermentation Science from Chungbuk National University in South Korea in 2011. She is also a Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT 200).

From an early age, Gana was drawn to the natural sciences. She studied in an accelerated science program with a strong emphasis on physics before later transitioning into a chemistry-focused track. Alongside science, she also loved geography and English — subjects that helped expand her understanding of both the natural world and human connection.

Throughout her career in food science, Gana has worked in quality assurance, research and development, and academic settings. What she enjoys most about R&D is that it sits at the intersection of imagination, research, and scientific knowledge. She has always had a vivid imagination and a deep curiosity about the mystical and magical aspects of life. Armed with technical expertise, she has dedicated her career to transforming ideas and possibilities into tangible products that people can enjoy.

Gana comes from Mongolia, a country where much of nature remains wild and untouched. Growing up, she ate foods that were simple, natural, and close to their source. That experience shaped her belief that the best ingredients come from nature itself, and it continues to guide both her work and her professional values.

In today's fast-paced and increasingly noisy world, Gana believes it is important to maintain a connection with nature and its rhythms. As a long-time yoga practitioner and certified instructor, she has witnessed how easily the mind, body, and spirit can become disconnected. Supporting practices and products that help restore that connection is deeply meaningful to her.

Through a wonderful collaboration with Amy and Eileen, and drawing on their extensive knowledge of functional herbs, Gana is helping bring the benefits of traditional botanicals into modern, everyday snacks that fit today's lifestyles.

One of the most rewarding parts of her work is seeing someone's vision and dream become reality. It is always a privilege to contribute her knowledge and creativity to that journey.
